This course is accredited through Agored, Cymru and delivered in conjunction with the YMCA Wales.
This is a oneday course for staff and volunteers working with families in a clinical and / or support setting.
This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, YMCA Downslink Group and West Sussex County Council.
What will I learn?
This one day course will help you to increase your skills and knowledge to address maternal and infant mental wellbeing.
Some of the topics you will cover on this course include:
- How parental mental illness can impacts on parenting ability
- Risk and protective factors in infant mental health
- Supporting the relationship between parents and their infant/child.
- Working in a multi disciplinary and multi agency approach
There are no entry requirements to this Level 2 course. However, we expect that all attendees will be currently working with families.
There will also be a small amount of additional work involved to gain this qualification, including case studies and written reflections.
Getting to the Venue
The nearest train station to Field Place is Durrington rail and then a 8 minute walk. The Pulse is a bus service which runs regulalrly nearby.There is free car parking on site.
Timings & Breaks
The course runs from 9.00am - 4.30pm
Tea and coffee will be provided during the break time.
Your £30 registration fee for this course helps towards the additional venue and refreshment costs. This is a non-refundable deposit.

We are an independent local mental health charity working in West Sussex.
We aim to promote good mental health through the provision of high quality services and through campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and understanding.
