This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, YMCA Downslink Group and West Sussex County Council.
What will I learn?
On this half day course you will:
- Understand your own response; how you grieve, how children & young people grieve and how we can respond to the event/disclosure
- Recognise changes in a young person’s behaviour
- Understand the role of individuals and communities in supporting bereaved young people and what resources we can access
How will I learn?
The session will be a mix of discussions, presentations, group interaction and activities. Our instructor provide a safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course. If you don’t feel comfortable joining in certain parts, then there is no pressure to.

We offer help and advice to people around improving their physical and mental well-being, strengthening their self-esteem and confidence, building strong relationships with family, friends and communities, getting into education, training and work and achieving their personal and social goals.
We also work actively in local communities to raise awareness about mental health and tackle the stigma and discrimination.
