Description

A course for anyone wishing to learn new skills in wound assessment and closure or to update/build their current skills.

The course covers - basic anatomy and key structures, assessment of wounds, choice of closure techniques and the use of a range of wound closure techniques (glue, steri-strips, staples and sutures).

Using a variety of methods including videos and live demonstrations with practical experience using pig skin/trotters (alternative mediums can be provided for those not wishing to practice on animal tissue) to give the most realistic classroom experience.

The tutors for the course are practicing Emergency Nurse Practitioners with years of experience of management of wounds and wound closure.

Entry requirements - minimum of First Aider.

Refreshments will be provided, the venue has a cafe available for lunch.

A certificate of attendance is provided.
