Aim:
- To provide the background theory related to the skin, its function and the process of wound healing.
- To provide information on dressing types and their application in practice.
- To have an understanding of the professional responsibilities when caring for patients living with wounds.
Outcomes:
- Anatomy and Physiology of the skin revision.
- Identifying wound infection and action.
- Assessment method - TIMES.
- Have an overview of dressings and their role in wound care.
- An understanding of good skin care and the use of emollients.
Delivery & Delegate Interactivity:
- Session will be delivered virtually with facilitator led discussion on the cycle of communication with example discussion to identify common assumptions and errors.
- Delegates will interact using chat box, sharing thoughts opinions and personal experiences.
- Delegates will be encouraged to use self-reflection and individual action planning-the focusing of future changes.
This session will be held via Microsoft Teams ; the link will be emailed from the trainer a week prior to the training.

- Charges will apply if the person attending does not work in Surrey Heartlands ICB.
- Spaces must be booked under the name & contact details of the person attending. Multiple bookings made under the same details may be subject to cancellation.
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours’ prior to the course date.
- Non-attendance or failure to cancel may result in a charge of up to £96 (this may be higher for certain courses). Failure to cancel and non-attendance also means that those on the waiting list are unable to be offered this place.
