About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join Green Badge Tourist Guide,Katie Crowther, on one of a series of regular Wrexham City Guided Tours.

Wrexham is an historic borders market town which was at the forefront of the industrial revolution.

On the walking tour you will;

  • Visit St Giles Parish Church - The glory of the Marches and burial place of Elihu Yale.
  • Learn about Wrexham's brewing history - and a martyr who came to a grisly end!
  • See the city's recently refurbished Victorian markets.
  • Learn about the football story, plus much more!

The walk will go ahead whatever the weather so please dress appropriately.

The route may cover uneven surfaces and include some steps so please wear suitable footwear. If you have any mobility issues or other accessibility concerns, please contact the organiser before booking to ensure the route can be adjusted accordingly.

If the event has to be cancelled at short notice for any reason, the organisers will make every effort to contact you using details provided at the time of booking.

Regular Wrexham City Guided tours take place both on Wrexham AFC home game dates and other selected dates throughout the year. Please enquire with Wrexham Visitor Information Centre or check Eventbrite listings by myself and my colleague, Pete Evans Tourist Guide.

Cheshire born and bred, Katie qualified as a Green Badge Guide for Chester in 2022 after a nearly 30 year corporate career. A true "history geek", she loves to share the stories of Chester's people and buildings with both visitors and locals alike on regular tours.

Based close by the River Dee, she is also a Green Badge Guide for beautiful North Wales and is excited to work across the local region. She's also a Gold Tourism Ambassador for Wrexham County.

Katie was a co-founder of the popular "Women of Chester" guided walk and is keen to explore the stories of ordinary people alongside those of the "great and good".
