Write by the Beach

From inspiration to publication...

will be back in 2018 on SATURDAY MARCH 17TH!

After two sell-out writing conferences in 2016 and 2017, we will be back in 2018 with all the features you love including:

Talks & workshops with top authors including Sunday Times bestseller of psychological thrillers Erin Kelly
“a master at drip-feeding us the details, keeping us guessing about the truth”
The Guardian

All ticket holders have a GUARANTEED opportunity to pitch their story to a top literary agent or commissioning editor in a one-to-one slot. Plus there will be a prize for the best pitch, judged by our sponsor, literary agent David Headley.

Set in the bustling Brighton Lanes, The Friends' Meeting House is a charming and spacious building in an oasis of green in the vibrant city. You day includes exclusive access to talks, panels and workshops on all aspects of writing, our Waterstones shop with author signings, a delicious nutritious lunch, tea, coffee and cake and the opportunity to mingle with fellow delegates and our speakers.

Sessions include talks from bestselling authors Julie Cohen, Kate Harrison and Sarah Crossan PLUS a panel discussion on what agents want from:

Rebecca Carter – Janklow & Nesbit

David Headley - DHH Literary Agency

Clare Wallace – Darley Anderson

Sarah Manning - The Bent Agency

Jemima Forrester - David Higham Associates

Julia Churchill - AM Heath

And as if that's not enough, a choice of workshops on writing a prize-winning short story, turning memory into memoir, YA and a pitching clinic!

Further sessions - to be arranged - will all be invaluable to aspiring writers.

Each delegate will go away with a goodie bag of writing related material and a new insight into the workings of the publishing world.

Sponsors this year include DDH Literary Agency, The Brighton Prize, Mslexia,The Writer's Forum and Will Taylor Accountants.
