Description

This ‘train-the-trainer’ session is for those staff whose job it is to support researchers to communicate and share their research with wider audiences. This will be a chance to find out more about The Conversation, including what they’re looking for, a chance to brush up on and hone your own communication skills, with the emphasis on training others. This session will be delivered by an Editor from The Conversation in conjunction with the Public Affairs Directorate and will cover will cover:

  • An introduction to The Conversation: what it is and how it works
  • Editing skills: What makes a good story? Supporting others to write for The Conversation
  • From one-to-one to training others: tips on how to deliver training
  • Pitch perfect: how to write a compelling pitch: helping researchers think about lenses through which to look at their research
