The goal of this course is to make a book to which we all contribute. The book will develop over the six weeks of the course and we will all receive two copies of the book we create. David Woods is a creative writing tutor who will inspire our wordplay with simple exercises and games. Lou Davis is an artist and printmaker who will teach us hand printing methods for getting our creative ideas onto the page. We’ll use the poetry or prose we develop to make a book, typesetting the words with a tabletop adana letterpress and creating illustrations using lino/relief printmaking. Finally we’ll be binding our books using the Japanese stab binding technique.
Thursdays 7:00 - 9:30pm from 27th October for six weeks.
tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. This workshop is limited to three participants due to the size of the workspace so you'll get plenty of hands-on tuition. On arrival, please come to the studio access door of the Creative Showroom and ring the bell.
