Write Now, the publishing event held annually by Chorley & District Writers’ Circle, will be held on Saturday 22nd October from 1pm at St Mary’s Parish Centre, West St, Chorley. It's just off Devonshire Road and the postcode is PR7 2SR.
The focus will be on getting published, and confirmed speakers are Zoe Sharpe, the published and self-published crime author, and Jake Hope, the children’s writing consultant and judge of children’s writing competitions such as the Costa and Carnegie. There will be two more speakers, yet to be confirmed, although we hope one will be from a London-based publishers.
Tickets are just £10 plus booking fees.
This year for the first time we’re also holding a small book fair and we invite North West writers to book a table. Tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can only be reserved if you’ve already bought your ticket for Write Now. They cost £10 for a full table or £5 for a half. Please note: you’ll be responsible both for your books and for taking money.
Doors open at 1pm – and by happy coincidence parking is free in the adjacent West St car park from 1pm, and the speakers kick off at 1.30pm. The event finishes at between 5pm and 5.30pm. Light refreshments will be available. Chorley town centre is a very short walk away for lunch before the event, or dinner afterwards. Chorley rail station is a 20 minute walk from the venue.
