Come ready to write. Leave with momentum.
Further Information
Refreshments - There's hot and cold food available from the university cafes right next to the library - so just downstairs from the Jisc Innovation Hub, and there's a Nisa supermarket too, with meal deal selections etc. You save 25p on hot drinks bringing your own cup, and there's a water fountain just by the Hub
Getting there/ parking - see below
The Jisc Innovation Hub is located in the library at the University of Stirling. Information on getting to the university can be found at Getting here | About | University of Stirling, including the promotion of active and public travel possibilities.
For those driving, the location of car parks can be found by zooming in on the interactive map at Getting around campus | About | University of Stirling. The closest parking to the library is at the Cottrell Building, which is linked to ‘Campus Central’ and the library by a walkway. There is disabled parking available between the Cottrell and Campus Centre buildings, with lift access. Note that parking over 2 hours is chargeable (£3 for up to 4 hours, and £5 for all-day, payable via the RingGo App).
On Arrival -
Visitors to the Jisc Innovation Hub should make their way to the library reception, which is off ‘Campus Central’, the university’s covered (indoor) main foyer space. There are a number of catering outlets in Campus Central for drinks and other refreshments (which are permitted in the Jisc Innovation Hub).
Staff at the library reception will let visitors through the security gates, and will give directions to the Hub. The reception is on Level 2 of the library, and the Jisc Innovation Hub is on Level 3 (so up one set of stairs, or via the lift). Exiting the staircase, turn right, and turn right at the Jisc Innovation Hub sign on the pillar ahead, with the Jisc Innovation Hub rooms in the corner ahead.
Facilities -
Wifi is provided in the Jisc Innovation Hub, through eduroam for those visiting from colleges and universities, and through the “BT UoS Guest” University of Stirling guest wifi network for others. Mains power sockets are available for powering/recharging devices.
Toilets can be found in the staircase stairwell on the same level as the Jisc Innovation Hub, and between the Jisc Innovation Hub and the stairwell, there’s an accessible toilet, and a water bottle refill point.
Contact -
For any queries regarding the venue, contact Jason Miles-Campbell, Jisc’s Director for Scotland & NI, on 07468 727314, or by Teams call/IM on jason.miles-campbell@jisc.ac.uk.
