Join us for an afternoon of short talks from literary insiders and published University of Dundee graduates as they share their stories and offer advice on your next steps.

→ Jenny Niven (Creative Scotland's Head of Literature, Languages and Publishing on festivals, funding, opportunities for writers, & more)
→ Laura Waddell (Publishing Manager at Harper Collins and writer talks about publicising your work and building a portfolio)
→ David Stenhouse (Development Executive at the BBC on getting your work on air, writing and adapting for radio, and more)
→ Claire Wingfield (Literary Consultant who provides all kinds of professional support to writers seeking to find a publisher or agent)
→ and authors and University of Dundee graduates Sandra Ireland, Oliver Langmead and Claire MacLeary
The event will finish with a drink and a chance to mingle.
How do you get an agent? How do you get published? What are festivals looking for, and how best can you get noticed in applications for residencies and funding? How can setting up an event increase your profile and how does networking work?
This event, organised by Literary Dundee, will star influential figures from the publishing and literature industry, sharing their expertise, and answering these questions and more to help you take your writing to the world.
If you’re a writer, at any level, someone interested in the world of literature or someone who would like to find out more about studying writing at the University of Dundee then this is for you!
