Event description

Description

Zero Tolerance is pleased to present the sixth annual Write to End Violence Awards for excellence in journalism.

The awards seek to drive up standards in journalism by rewarding those committed to furthering the cause of gender equality through their work. We aim to change the landscape of Scottish media by ensuring that journalists stop perpetuating harmful ideas about gender and gender-based violence and instead use their voices to promote gender equality and an end to violence against women.

We think encouraging improvements in the standard of journalism is key to ending Violence Against Women, and are delighted to celebrate these awards during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

We are delighted to have received so many wonderful submissions across all our award categories, and look forward to celebrating all the shortlisted authors at the awards ceremony.

As 2018 is the Year of Young People in Scotland (find out more here) and we have decided to mark this year with a category dedicated to young people’s writing. As such, we will be awarding a Year of Young People Award in partnership with The Young Women’s Movement.

Our programme for the evening will be published closer to the time, but please register now to avoid disappointment!

As our event is always well attended, we have a limited number of tickets available therefore if you are no longer able to attend the award, please cancel your tickets.
