Calling all writers and aspiring writers looking for the support of a writing group.

  • Do you find it hard to make time for your writing?
  • Do you have stories you want to tell?

  • Have you begun a writing project and ground to a halt?

Writing together has been shown to reduce anxiety, strengthen our sense of community, promote resilience and wellbeing.

Whether you're seeking ways to develop your writing skills, or to process and transform experiences, thoughts and feelings, The Writing Space will help you develop and sustain your writing practice.


What to expect:

  • Four Creative Writing workshops throughout July 2025.
  • A choice of enjoyable writing prompts designed to spark your creativity.
  • Optional homework each week.
  • The opportunity to share your writing in a safe, supportive group.
  • Connection with fellow writers.
  • Guidance from trauma-informed writing coach.

No experience of creative writing necessary and there's no pressure to share your personal writing.

  • 2pm - 4pm on Friday afternoons.

There are 4 sessions on the following dates:

  • 4 July, 11 July, 18 July and 25 July 2025.

Ticket price: £100 for the course.
Two low-cost spaces by donation.

Please note: These workshops are for adults 18+ and numbers are limited.

Bring your favourite writing materials and a willingness to participate in the moment.


About the course leader:

Writer, poet, art maker, writing for wellbeing practitioner, survivor and thriver, Judi’s work encompasses creative and therapeutic writing practices. She holds an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing and Personal Development (Sussex University).

Judi is a member of the National Association for Writers in Education and Lapidus, the international words for wellbeing organisation. She is a Relational Dynamics coach (ILM Level 7 equivalent) and holds public liability insurance and enhanced DBS clearance.

After teaching Creative Writing at the University of Hertfordshire, Judi established The Writing Space in 2012 to offer writing workshops and creative coaching for groups and individuals.

Judi has co-edited two anthologies of poetry and short stories. Her work is published in anthologies.
