About this event

In this workshop, we’ll combine lucky Chinese calligraphy with symbolic forms from Western cultures to create a one-of-a-kind pair of talisman earrings.

You’ll begin by using a brush to write a Chinese character—perhaps “Joy” or “Calm”—on a small card, expressing your current inner state. At the same time, you’ll design a symbol of strength inspired by Western totems: it could be the Ankh for life and eternity, or an image born from your own imagination. These elements draw from ancient cultural wisdom while also responding to your present wishes and intuition.

Your chosen Chinese character and totem symbol will be softly engraved onto thin brass pieces, weaving together calligraphy and metal to give shape to your intention. We’ll also provide decorative materials such as pearls and other accessories to help you personalize your earrings.

This is more than a crafting activity—it’s a quiet ritual that transforms your wishes into something you can wear. And when you put them on, you may find you’re not just wearing earrings, but carrying a subtle form of self-protection and care.
