Frederick Forsyth and local authors join local Ukrainians to celebrate brave Ukraine and raise funds for humanitarian aid
About this event
Please join us to show your solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they face invasion and mass casualty attacks on civilians - and help us raise funds for humanitarian aid.
At this event we will hear from local Ukrainian women whose families are under attack back in Ukraine, and from legendary thriller writer Frederick Forsyth exclusively reading one of his own stories, and other local authors reading from the works of Ukrainian writers and poets (in English).
There will be a bar (Windsor & Eton + Rebellion breweries) and a raffle. We ask for a donation of £10 per ticket, if you can afford it. Or more if you'd like. And you can also make a donation for a non-attendance ticket if you are not able to join us in person, but would like to show your support.
Funds raised by ticket donations and on the night will go to the WithUkraine humanitarian fund created by the Embassy of Ukraine and recommended by the British government as one of the best ways to help with humanitarian aid. If you would prefer to donate to WithUkraine directly, the details are here https://www.withukraine.org/
Speaking at this event: Frederick Forsyth CBE, Anna Elmirzayeva, Olha Malickina, Tony Kent (champion boxer and thriller author), Stevyn Colgan (QI), Geoffrey Gudgion (author), Denise Beddows (author), Paul Waters (author) and others to be announced.
Please share details of this event with your friends and on social media. The Jubilee Hall has a seated capacity of 200, and we'd like to fill it. We can show Ukrainians that the world sees and supports them.
