Description

Do you need to write a statement for the family court? Communication is key to your case...Are you stuck? Is legal advice too expensive? Are you worried about not putting your point across or saying the wrong thing? How long is too long? How do you say what you really want to say without offending the court and messing up your case?

Putting your case to the court is probably the most important piece of writing you will ever do and it deserves your best shot.

In this workshop you will draft your family court statement in a format that is easy to read, well crafted and full of punchy ways to make your point. Your workshop leader will be an experienced family Solicitor who does this day in day out. The workshop is in a small group ( 5 maximum) so you will have ample time to get the help you need to come out with a statement that everything you need it to be. This workshop includes FREE computer use, FREE photocopying where required, FREE light lunch, FREE teas and coffees, FREE access to /Wifi /internet/ telephone use as necessary, FREE access to case law if necessary. At any point in the workshop you can ask to have a quick private consultation with the Solicitor running the workshop. FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

You must bring 2 forms of ID with you. 1 needs your picture on it (passport/ drivers lisence preferred) and one with proof of address ( recent utility bill, council tax, credit card statement. bank statement are all good options)

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Our Reading office is a 30 second walk from the train station. We are a 2 minute walk from the town centre. About a million buses stop in Station Road, so check if you are on our bus route! There is paid for parking in the Oracle, the Station, and the other town centre car parks are a 5 minute walk from our office.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring any evidence that you would like to exhibit to your statement. Being everything you may need, we will tell you if it isn't relevant. Exhibits are a like "show and tell" to the judge. They "prove " what you say is a fact and can be very useful, but warning! - too may and you will look a bit obsessive! Good examples of useful evidence is selected text messages or social media posts, medical records, recent school reports and emails or letters. If in doubt, bring everything, we will help you pick what is relevant.

What's the refund policy?
