Description

Writing and publishing a great research paper: the Elsevier perspective

Producing quality research papers is key to a successful academic career. To help support you in this activity Elsevier, in co-operation with the University Library, have kindly offered to run a session which will be relevant to all disciplines and provide insights into how editors and reviewers look at manuscripts, tips on how to get published and the peer review process.

The session is aimed at early career researchers, although more senior researchers and academics are also very welcome.

Anthony Newman, Senior Publisher at Elsevier, will deliver the session covering the following topics:

  • The different types of research papers published
  • Considerations before writing
  • Choosing the right journal
  • Writing using correct language
  • The structure of the manuscript
  • The submission and review procedure
  • Author responsibilities: publishing ethics and plagiarism

When and Where: 4th April, 9.30-11.30 in Stewart Mason Building 0.17

We look forward to seeing you there.

For more information contact Alison Ashmore (Academic Librarian for Wolfson School and for Chemistry) or Jen De Lillo (Academic Librarian for English and Drama).
