What if I've never done fieldwork before?

This will be an introduction to fieldwork so no experience is necessary. If you have done fieldwork before, this is a chance to hone your skills.

Where do I find free parking?

You can park for free on Westbourne Avenue, Leigh Road or Oakmount Avenue and walk around to The Avenue Campus.

Overview

Join us for a seminar and an interactive workshop, where you get to practise your observational fieldwork and writing skills.

Ethnographers and anthropologists, Professor Marion Demossier and Associate Professor Heidi Armbruster will conduct a seminar about how to best prepare and foster productive writing skills.

This will be followed by some time for you to do your own 'flash fieldwork' before we return to share our observations and take a moment to write up what we've recorded.

Tea, coffee and snacks provided. Please bring your own lunch or purchase from The Avenue café.

This will be a hybrid event - you'll get more from attending in person however we will also broadcast the seminar and part of the workshop online.
