Our Writing for Art Workshop is run by visual artist Elly Clarke and writer Ben Fergusson. It is open to people who make as well as write about art, including anyone interested in the role of language in the interpretation of art: in print, exhibitions or online.
During the two day workshop, we will discuss what makes good art writing and interpretation; look at common pitfalls; challenge participants to analyse and improve their own writing through exercises; and create a creative forum to debate the relationship of language and art with other writers, artists and curators. Our aim is that by the end of the workshop participants will have gained real practical tools they can then use in their ongoing practice.
A trip to an exhibition will take place on the Friday afternoon, with the cost of entry included in the workshop fee.
The workshop will take place in Berlin - further details will follow. Number of participants limited to a maximum of 16.
