About this event
We’re delighted to be visiting Rotherham for an evening dedicated to Writing for Television.
This special event is for anyone interested in screenwriting, no matter how much experience you may have, and will support writers with turning ideas into scripts and finding outlets for their work. Our panels of writers and broadcasting professionals will offer writers support on writing their scripts, developmental schemes and professional opportunities.
Confirmed speakers include screenwriter Caroline Moran, Northern Writers’ Award-winner Adam Bennett-Lea, Soph Webberley (Development Executive at Warp Films) and Emily Nabney (Development Executive at Rollem Productions).
Also attending is Will Mackie (Senior Programme Manager at New Writing North), who will introduce the audience to New Writing North’s writer development activities and our new Northern Talent Network for screenwriters.
Doors will open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
Please note this is an in-venue event without a live-streaming option. If you are unable to attend, you may be interested in watching our previous online event on Writing for Television, which you can watch here.
Free bursary places: We want everyone to be able to attend our events. 10% of tickets for this event are reserved as free bursary places for those who are on a low income or suffering financial hardship. We encourage you to request a bursary place by emailing office@newwritingnorth.com. Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Programmed by New Writing North in partnership with Channel 4, with thanks to the Rotherham Civic Theatre for their generous hosting of the event.
