Event description

Description

How can words and images be used to dismantle and challenge representations that inherently hold moments of violence and vulnerability? Hosted by Lou Lou Sainsbury, Writing for the Toxic Voice explores writing and drawing as modes for disarming systemic violence. The workshop departs from their new live-performance and research 1667: Not Alive Just Living, which probes issues in contemporary toxicity, right-wing extremism, queer and ecological activism and historical scapegoats including the figure of the vampire. In this workshop, we will work collectively to develop and explore multiple positions within historical, interpersonal, scientific and poetic languages.

Join the live performance 1667: Not Alive, Just Living by Lou Lou Sainsbury on Thu 8 Aug.

Nottingham Contemporary’s public programme is jointly funded by Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham.
