Description

This is an ONS-only event, for staff on the Census and Data Collection Transformation Programme.

The Writing Minutes for Meetings Workshop has been designed by Business Support colleagues within the Transformation Directorate and Central Policy Secretariat, in response to requests from staff. This is an interactive session, focusing on how to make your minute-taking easier and more effective. Session runs for 2 hours.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the importance of good minutes
  • Top tips for effective minute-taking
  • Some of the pitfalls and how to overcome them
  • Example of good practice: ‘Cabinet Office Style’
  • Practice at taking minutes
  • Next steps to develop your skills further
  • Peer support – sharing ideas and learning together

Target group: All staff who take minutes at meetings are very welcome to attend, whether this is an occasional or regular part of your role. A follow-up session will be scheduled to take place a few weeks after the workshop, for those who would like some peer support.
