***It is necessary to register if you wish to attend due workshop capacity*** If the event is full there will be a limited number of waiting list places available, once these have been taken the event is sold out and we reccomend you look at future workshop dates.
We have structured the workshops in two parts – each lasting 2.5 hours and held on separate days approximately a month apart and would ask that you attend both parts.
Session 1 will explore: i) basic assessment theory and the role of OSCEs ii) the MMS programme and curriculum in relation to our current OSCE bank and iii) use group-work tasks to identify areas to target new stations. Attendance at Session 1 will therefore generate station ideas for participants to develop in the interval period prior to Session 2.
Participants at Session 2 will bring their draft cases for peer-review in small groups with potential suggestions being made to help further develop the station. Following the workshops, the MMS assessment team will then further develop these new stations before final inclusion in future OSCEs - we will of course acknowledge the original author(s) in the final script.
Both workshops parts will be facilitated by experienced academic OSCE leads from MMS. We have applied for CPD points for both workshops and will hopefully be able to confirm this in due course. Certificates of attendance for each part will be provided.
This workshop is part of a serries of PRIME staff development workshops run by Manchester Medical School. For further details and related workshops please see the PRIME website, and click here for directions to our workshop locations.
