Event description

Description

Aimed at teachers of all ages and stages, with an interest in literacy (particularly English teachers supporting pupils to develop a portfolio of creative writing) this session explores how you can use images to inspire your pupils to write.

Delivered in partnership with writer Marjorie Gill and the Scottish Poetry Library, this session will equip you with a range of practical tools to motivate pupils to play with words.

We will demonstrate how visual art can be used as a stimulus to inspire individual responses in spoken and written word, taking the exhibition ARTIST ROOMS: Music from the Balconies – Ed Ruscha and Los Angeles as a starting point. Ruscha draws upon urban landscape and architecture, cinema, brands and language that relate to Los Angeles, Hollywood and the aspirations of the American Dream.

Refreshments provided.
