About this event

Join Writing Our Legacy for the first Downs to the Sea Water Day at Falmer Pond in Sussex. Explore the local setting of this body of water with a history stretching back to the Saxon times. What connections do we find here on the South Downs beside a village pond that is filled primarily by rainwater and sometimes known as a ‘dewpond?’

During this workshop, there will be opportunities to follow creative prompts from our artist/writer, explore the local environment and share ideas and refreshments.

Refreshments and all materials will be provided.

This is an inclusive, participatory workshop for adults welcoming BPOC folk, people of our LGBTQ+ and disability communities, creatives, supporters, friends, newcomers and all. No previous experience required.

Unfortunately, dogs cannot be accommodated for at this event.

Organized by

Writing Our Legacy CIC is an arts and heritage organisation that enables Black, Asian and ethnically diverse/BPOC* people to tell their story through writing and the creative arts. We were established in 2012.

We give writers and other creatives a platform and community to feel supported, nurtured and evolve their work through the creative pipeline, from start to publication. We share stories and heritage of diaspora communities and bring them to life through various art forms for audiences to learn and take part in cultural heritage.
