Event description
Join writer Daisy Henwood to explore how we can write about the outdoors whilst staying indoors...

About this Event

What does it mean to write about your favourite places when you can’t visit them? What do we need in order to be able to write about ‘nature’? Can writing from indoors be part of ongoing climate activism?

In this workshop we will think about different stimuli for writing about place (photos/art, memories, objects) and see if we can produce writing that celebrates the world around us, even when that world remains at times small.

Daisy Henwood is a writer, arts producer, and tutor. She is currently a producer for TOAST poetry, a monthly live event in Norwich, and in 2019 she got her PhD in environmental literature from UEA. Her work is interested in land, climate change, and reading/writing as ways of connecting with the natural world. She loves Rebecca Solnit and the Norfolk countryside.

Suitable for ages 13-18. Places are limited so please register in advance.

This workshop will be taking place via Zoom, attendees will receive a link and information on how to attend.

Please note you will receive a booking and consent form after registering, we cannot guarantee a workshop place until this form has been completed and returned to coordinator@youngnorfolkarts.org

Part of the Young Norfolk Arts Virtual Festival running 3-6 July.
