You must be University of Portsmouth staff to participate in the writing retreats.
The writing retreats are organised by Julian Ingle, Deputy Head of ASK, who has been running writing retreats for staff and PhD students for many years.
Why come on a writing retreat? Writing retreats provide you with dedicated time and space away from the multiple demands of work to focus on your research or work-based writing projects. It doesn't mater what stage your writing is at. The retreat is structured into writing blocks with task setting and review conversations interspersed throughout the day. Staff frequently talk about how productive the retreats are; but as important is the time spent with colleagues, sharing experiences of writing, exploring new strategies and reconnecting with your work.
