Event description

Description

‘Writing skills to take you from A to Z (or Year 1 to Dr)’

This workshop will provide you with a toolkit of writing skills and good habits to take you from the beginning of your thesis to the successful end.

Workshop 1: How to plan and write your thesis.

Your actual thesis might seem like a long way off but there’s a lot you can do to start successfully planning for it from the very beginning. Good writing relies on a basic understanding of grammar and how words fit together. We’ll examine some basic guidelines and rules of constructing well-written sentences and paragraphs, using good (and bad) examples of academic writing.
