Date and time
Robert Graham talks about THE FORMER BOY WONDER
About this event
At this event, you will learn about some of the creative processes involved in writing Robert's new, Chorlton-set novel. He will touch on key elements of a novelist's craft such as research, reflection, and redrafting. You can read more about that here:
Working at Edge Hill, MMU and Liverpool John Moores, Robert has taught fiction-writing for the past 25 years. He is the author of two previous novels and two short story collections and is co-author of the Palgrave MacMillan textbooks The Road To Somewhere: A Creative Writing Companion and How To Write A Short Story (And Think About It).
Praise for The Former Boy Wonder
“Warm, funny and affecting. A page-turning delight.”
Caroline Smailes, author of The Drowning of Arthur Braxton
“Such a funny, sad and tender story.”
Horatio Clare, author of Heavy Light
“I kept picturing lipstick traces on a cigarette and hearing late-night records, the kind you play to conjure up a golden age. This wonder boy’s song brings a romantic’s past to life on the page and reveals the secret fears behind it.”
Jeff Young, Costa Award-shortlisted author of Ghost Town
Copies of the novel will be on sale at the event.
Admission is free, but places are limited. Booking is recommended.
