Writing Workshop at Ballyscullion Park with Niamh McNally: 'The Land'
Overview
Welcome to the Writing Workshop at Ballyscullion Park with poet Niamh McNally. Join us for a creative day of exploring words and stories in the beautiful setting of Ballyscullion Park. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their poetry writing skills, to be inspired and connect with fellow writers.
'The Land' is a workshop which focuses on nature and spirituality. Belfast-based poet Niamh McNally will lead this workshop in nature poetry. Using poems from Seamus Heaney (in the heart of Heaney Country, overlooking The Strand at Lough Beg), Mary Oliver, and Paula Meehan as prompts, the workshop will explore the theme of land within your writing - both the physical: the soil, rocks, trees and the seasons and metaphysical: our spiritual connections to landscape, ancestors, mythology, memory - and how to use place as a starting point for your work. Surrounded by the beauty of daffodils and all that Spring has to offer, this is the perfect time to delve into the natural world, in a gorgeous location!
There will be mindful discussions and visual prompts in a comfortable environment, to inspire you and get those wonderful words flowing. We are the land, and it is us. Let’s explore it together and tell our stories!
