Description

Have you heard the word?

FREE Writing Workshops:

Have you heard the word? As part of the programme of events commemorating the 200th anniversary of Peterloo 1819 we are conducting some research and development workshops in crowd sourcing words and ideas that will contribute to events happening as part of the Peterloo 2019 programme.

To find out more join Evie Manning, Artistic Director (Common Wealth) and Robin Richards (Dutch Uncles) at Manchester Art Gallery for these compelling workshops.

The Peterloo Massacre took place in Manchester in 1819. A peaceful protest where people stood together for parliamentary representation and Manchester became a radical city like no other.

These FREE hands-on, interactive writing workshops are open to all ages (16 years +) and all experiences. Each will last 2 - 2.5 hours.

Don’t miss this empowering opportunity to explore what democracy, protest and freedom means to us today in the context of the events 200 years ago.

Supported by Manchester City Council.
