MASTERCLASS

Social change begins with clarity of purpose. To create meaningful impact, social entrepreneurs need more than a good idea or a desire to help. You hold a responsibility to understand the deeper social cause your work exists to address, the system that produces it and the kind of change you aim to influence over time. This masterclass will help you deepen that understanding and turn it into practical tools for designing and communicating impact.

Part A: The Role and Responsibility of a Social EntrepreneurWe begin by exploring what it means to lead with a clear social impact commitment. This goes beyond having a solution or delivering a service. It involves recognising how your work contributes to shifting the conditions that sustain the issue you are addressing. This reflection lays the foundation for building an organisation that is truly outcomes led.

Part B: Understanding Your Case for ChangeA Case for Change explains why your work matters and what deeper change it seeks to influence. You will explore what it includes, why it is valuable and how it helps define a clear, outcomes-led vision, mission and purpose. By looking beyond visible problems to identify unmet needs and deeper conditions, you will begin to see how to diagnose the system that produces the issue your organisation exists to address.

Part C: Introduction to Theory of ChangeThe final part introduces the Theory of Change, a framework that links your long-term vision to the outcomes and activities needed to achieve it. You will learn how to design a logic model that maps your pathway from activity to impact, beginning with the vision and working backwards. This approach keeps your organisation focused on the change it exists to influence and provides a foundation for meaningful measurement.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of your role as a social entrepreneur, what is required to write your own Case for Change and how to begin building a Theory of Change that connects your daily work to the longer-term difference you aim to make.
