Writing Your First Feature Film

Drama Centre London: Collaborations in Performance and Design

Wednesday 5th July 2017 | London, UK

Part of the Film Matrix series at Central St Martins this special evening is focused on the topic of Writing Your First Feature Film. This is both a networking event and a seminar, with talks and panel discussions set up for the benefit of the students. The objective is to give insight and guidance on the challenging and sometimes daunting task of writing your first 90-page screenplay. We'll cover the basics, story structure, building characters and the realities of writing.

Industry representatives and interested individuals from outside are of course welcome to attend.

Speakers

Duncan Paveling

Having had an eclectic background in Film/Television, Duncan began as a Music Assistant to composer Barrington Pheloung, working closely with a number of industry professionals on award-winning projects such as HILARY & JACKIE (dir: Anand Tucker) and INSPECTOR MORSE.

Soon after Duncan then spent a couple of years freelancing on a variety of projects for clients such as Tiger Aspect and the BBC.

Duncan then joined Magnet Films Ltd, a new company established by the late Sir David Frost. During this time, Duncan was involved with the development of a number of projects; which included work with the UK Film Council (now BFI).

Since leaving Magnet Films, Duncan has developed and written a number of screenplays; which have naturally evolved into the creation of dull boy pictures
