WSAB Safeguarding Adults Review Learning Event
Worcestershire Safeguarding Adults Board (WSAB) is pleased to announce that we are hosting two events to share the learning from recent Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs) with the aim of preventing abuse and neglect,
We would like to invite all service providers within Worcestershire, frontline staff and management, to join us for a half-day session discussing the learning and emerging themes in Worcestershire from recent SARs and how this can directly impact on your polices, practices, the way you communicate with other service providers and the services you provide in order to help you to Safeguard those in your care and work to prevent abuse and neglect.
WSAB is required by law under the Care Act (2014) to carry out SARs.
The main focus of a SAR is to create the opportunity for multi-agency learning that seeks to identify where improvements can be made following the death of an adult or an incident of serious harm experienced by an adult, or group of adults with care and support needs. The review identifies learning that enables Worcestershire to improve its services and prevent abuse and neglect in the future. It should also be noted that a SAR also looks to identify good practise that has taken place and share this within relevant areas.
Please note that there are limited spaces for the two sessions so please book early to avoid disappointment.
What are the differences between the two sessions?
Both sessions are run exactly the same. Two sessions are being run to allow more flexibility for people to attend.
My organisation has been not been involved in any SARs, will they be anything for me to learn at the event?
Absolutely. One of the most important aspects about a SAR is that the learning is shared with as many people as possible with the aim of preventing similar situations from happening again. We also look to share best practice as we also recoginse the fantastic work being carried out by service providers within Worcestershire.
Can I just turn up on the day rather than book?
In order to manage numbers we would requests that you book. It only takes a couple of minutes and is completly free.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is ample car parking at the venue and a bus stop close by.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Please contact SafeguardingAdultsBo@worcestershire.gov.uk
