PRESENTER 1: ALINA BAKHAREVA - ENERGY CONSULTANT - ENERGYDECK
'PropTech - A Solution to take the Property Industry into the Digital Age?
PropTech - is it a new tech buzzword? Is it here to stay? Is it applicable to the residential properpty market only or can commercial and public buildings benefit from the newest technology? Challenges for those in charge of runningthe commercial real estate are mounting up. Buildings have to go beyond smart, green and sustainable into being 'healthy' for occupants. Can PropTech provide a solution to help people engage with the real estate in a more meaningful way? This presentation will look into emerging trends in real estate management, and technology solutions shaping up as an answer to these new challenges.
Fascinated by early solar and wind parks in California back in 1999, Alina developed a strong passion for clean and sustainable energy. An opportunity to join the sector came much later, when Alina joined Frost & Sullivan's Energy & Environment Practice in London in 2007. A former Management Consultant in energy and energy efficiency markets, Alina is now working for EnergyDeck on the cross-section of Big Data and energy efficiency in buildings. EnergyDeck's mission is to provide clear and accessible analysis of energy and resource consumption for buildings. EnergyDeck's proposition to deliver measurable change in its market resonated well with Alina's personal drive to bring positive changes.

Catherine's presentation looks at some of the challenges businesses face in terms of implementing energy efficiency in their projects, and highlighting the conflicts of 'lifecycle' benefits against 'nearer-term'business constraints using case studies.
