WSRT Wet Wednesday Webinar: River Restoration with Pete King
Overview
Wet Wednesday Webinar: River Restoration - The Practicalities of Delivering Successful Projects with Peter King, Director Ouse & Adur Rivers Trust.
So just how do you restore a river? What does a good river even look like? What's all this about re-wiggling?
This talk will guide us through the processes involved in delivering river restoration. From the use of data and evidence, through developing ideas to completion of works we will look at the successes, the lessons learnt and the hurdles to overcome across a variety of projects from small scale to large engineering approaches. Throughout we will look at how those who live in or visit our rivers can understand more about what makes a good river and the types of improvements which can be made.
Pete has been working at the Ouse & Adur Rivers Trust since 2011 and has been involved in the delivery of over 120 projects delivering improvement to rivers and streams. From small scale enhancements to removing weirs and re-wiggling rivers Pete's knowledge of river restoration has been built over time, learning from each project and working with others to ensure the best outcome for the water environment.
