‘Experiencing the Good Life’

Join with other local Church Leaders for a morning filled with insightful teaching about how we can help our church communities further a commitment to each other and Jesus.

Prof Ben Blackwell will be looking at Gal 2:11-21 and drawing out learning from Paul's example.

'All of us want a fulfilling life. We’re constantly searching for ways to achieve it but often follow patterns that are counterproductive. Modern psychology highlights social connections as essential to a ‘good life’, and some argue that your meaning in life is proportionate to the level of commitment you make to other people. We’ll test that premise by looking at the problem of social separation in Galatians 2. There Paul speaks about God’s plan for a flourishing community not simply as a commitment to one another but also in terms of a wholehearted commitment to Jesus. In this dual commitment, we experience the fullness of the life God promises.'

This in-person event will be held at Battle Baptist Church.

Doors Open at 9.45am and the event starts at 10 am.

Prof Ben Blackwell

Ben joined the staff of WTC as Vice-Principal in 2023, and took up the role of Principal in January 2025. He completed his PhD at Durham University, ThM at Dallas Theological Seminary, an MBA from Henderson State University, and BAs in Accounting and Biblical Languages at Ouachita Baptist University. His primary teaching and research areas include New Testament and Theology, and he thoroughly enjoys interacting with students on a wide variety of topics. With a strong desire to invest in the church, Ben has served as a lay leader in a variety of ministry areas such as social justice missions, teaching, and preaching, most recently in the Vineyard tradition.

There will be a chance to meet the local WTC staff and find out more about WTC and what it is like to study with us in the WTC East Sussex Hub.

We look forward to seeing you there!
