Kit : Suitable running kit (waterproof may be required), trail shoes are highly recommended, food & water
Starting at the Longendale Trail car park 200m NE of Hadfield train station we'll head out along the Longendale Trail for the first few miles before crossing Rhodeswood dam and crossing Woodhead Road. We'll then follow a track uphill and enter the woods up to Tintwhistle Knarr quarry with views over the Woodhead Valley, Bleaklow and Manchester.
From here we'll come out onto the moorland where we'll have two miles gradually descending to join Arnfield Lane. We'll then head up the bridleway towards Higher Swineshaw reservoir skirting around Lees Hill and passing through the nature reserve by Arnfield Reservoir. From here we'll cross Woodhead road once more as we go around Bottoms Reservoir and rejoin the Longendale trail back to the car park.
