Course summary

A 2-day course aimed at Healthcare Professionals who would like to develop their knowledge and skills in x-ray interpretation of the upper and lower limbs.

The course consists of lecture presentations and practical image interpretation workshops to enable participants to:

  • Develop a systematic approach for systematic analysis of upper limb and lower limb x-rays

  • Identify the factors that determine adequacy of images

  • Understand the features of normal upper limb and lower limb x-rays and recognize common abnormalities

Ideally suited to ENPs, ANPs, Physiotherapists and Junior Doctors, working in an area where x-ray viewing is part of their role. Some experience with x-ray interpretation is beneficial, but not essential.

Programme

Day 1:

  • Principles of normal appearances of bone and soft tissues on x-rays

  • ABCS approach to x-ray interpretation

  • Upper limb x-ray interpretation

  • Upper limb x-ray interpretation workshop

Day 2:

  • Lower limb x-ray interpretation

  • Lower limb x-ray interpretation workshop

Dates: 4th – 5th November 2017

Time: 09:00 - 17:00
