Building on the success of the last ten conferences, XTC brings you the UK’s premier Agile Software Development event. XPday is returning to its roots, focusing on “by practitioners, for practitioners”. The Agile community has grown and matured over the years we’ve been running XPday, so now we want an event that helps practitioners collectively advance the State of the Art.
XPday will be an open space event. However we are aware that some types of session need more preparation. As a result, we are hosting a technical track for programming based sessions and an experience report track.
The experience report track will allow us to help people prepare sessions. It is common for people to start their presenting career with an experience report and we want to give those people every support. More experienced speakers will need less support but we want to avoid having several session on the same subject.
In addition, we will have a “Lean Startup” track with speakers invited from outside of the London Agile community.
The event is free. It is funded through sponsorship. (We need more sponsors so if you know of a company that might sponsor us, please let us know).
This is a free event for practitioners, so we want to make sure that every attendee has real-world experience of Agile development. We're asking everyone to write up some aspect of their experience that they think others might be interested in. We'll use these reports to help seed topics for discussion. We might also ask some of you to volunteer to write yours up in more detail for publication in the event magazine or for a brief presentation.
We're especially interested in hearing about failures, although successes are useful too.
Please write up one to three paragraphs based on this structure:
1. Background context
2. What we wanted to change
3. What we tried
4. Something that succeeded
5. Something that failed
6. Something that surprised us
