Join us for the official launch of XR Stories, an exciting new R&D partnership for the Yorkshire screen industries.

Taking place on Wednesday 1st May in central York, we begin with welcome drinks at the King’s Manor from 13:30 - a fantastic opportunity to meet the team and explore the very latest in immersive technology.

Next, we move to The Hospitium from 15:00, for an insightful series of talks and panel discussions with key industry players, followed by an evening reception from 17:00.

Igloo dome demo - Join us at the welcome drinks in King's Manor for an opportunity to view the Igloo system, a bespoke 360 degree presentation space for immersive content presentation and creation. The Igloo system will also be available for viewing in the morning of the following day. Please contact XR Stories for more details.

Evening entertainment - The team behind York Mediale have an electric evening reception planned with performances by Mechanical Techno wizard, Graham Dunning and Leeds-based DJ Andrew Devine.Hailing from Derry in the north of Ireland, Andrew Devine has been making waves in the Leeds party scene for the past year. Nothing is off bounds during his sets; you should expect to hear it all: 5.00pm - 6.15pm & 6.45pm - 8.00pmFrom 6.15pm - 6.45pm experimental sound artist, Graham Dunning will be performing Mechanical Techno, a project that’s seen his experimentations go viral: https://youtu.be/wl1ZrEza7uY

Rooted in the future of immersive and interactive storytelling, XR Stories will accelerate the growth of the Yorkshire and Humber screen industries cluster, and raise the national and international profile of UK screen industries.

XR Stories is led by the University of York, in partnership with Screen Yorkshire and the British Film Institute. It brings together film, TV, games, performing arts and digital media businesses from across the Yorkshire and Humber region. The consortium also includes leading national and international companies and organisations and several regional universities.
