XTC Convention 2022 - Free trip to the Uffington White Horse with bookings by 14th August 2022! Any profits to Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust

About this event

The XTC Convention 2022 is a not for profit gathering of XTC fans from around the world over 3 days, created by fellow fans. Originally planned for 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic, it builds upon the exuberant virtual Conventions of 2020 and 2021, and will be the first in-person UK XTC Convention since 2017.

Join us for live music and much more as we celebrate the band at STEAM, at various locations around Swindon (and the famous 3000 year old White Horse at Uffington for bookings on or before 14th August 2022).

To see the latest Convention info and join in the buzz leading up to the event, visit the XTC Convention 2022 Facebook group:

What is the free Uffington White Horse visit, available with bookings until 14th August?

During Eventbrite registration for ticket sales up to and including 14th August (14/08/2022 23:59 BST to be precise), we will offer you a free planned coach trip to White Horse Hill, Uffington, Oxfordshire, on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September, lasting approximately 4 hours.

The White Horse logo was used by XTC for their acclaimed 1982 double album English Settlement and has a 40-year association with the band. Please see the website below for more details of this historic English site:

Please note this is at no extra cost; there is no discount available if you opt out of the visit, or it does not run. If you change your mind about your answer, please let us know as soon as possible. You can contact us via the email address below, or via the XTC Convention 2022 Facebook page.

From 15th August 2022, this offer will no longer be available, so don't delay!

What is an ICE telephone number?

We want everyone to be safe whilst at the Convention. You will be asked if you wish to provide an ICE (In Case of Emergency) telephone number during the ordering process. This will be used only for the purpose of contacting next of kin in an emergency at the event itself, and will be deleted within 48 hours of the end of the Convention. There is no requirement to provide a telephone number if you do not wish to do so.

What about travel, parking and accommodation?

Travel to STEAM :

You are free to stay wherever you wish, but hotel discounts for the Convention can be found at:

All travel and accommodation arrangements are external to the Convention and are made at your own risk.

Is there disabled access?

There is full disabled access at STEAM; other venues are to be advised. Whilst we will do our best to use venues that offer disabled access, this cannot be guaranteed. Please get in touch if you have any questions, or contact venues directly if you prefer, once announced.

Will there be refreshments available on site?

There will be food and drink on sale at STEAM during the times shown on the Facebook event schedule, including alcohol and vegetarian/vegan food. Smoking/vaping facilities will also be available.

What's the refund policy?

Other than postponement or cancellation by the organisers, the policy is no refunds. Unrecoverable expenses may be deducted from refunds if the event is cancelled. The schedule and artist line up are dynamic and liable to change as we work to bring you the best event possible. We will try our best to make sure any changes are improvements to your experience.

Will I be recorded at the Convention?

The Convention will be filmed, with sound. We regret we are unable to accommodate individual requests to edit anyone out, and you should note that attendance implies consent to recording and publishing of video and/or audio featuring attendees and/or performers. The organisers own all commercial rights to recordings commissioned for the Convention. Please note that other attendees may also record the event.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferable?

Tickets may be transferred into another attendee name before the Convention. However, for health, safety and security reasons, we ask that this is done no later than 7 days before the event, Patrons will register on arrival at the event so it is important that the attendee list is correct, to avoid hold-ups on entry to STEAM. Entry and attendance is at the discretion of the organisers at all times.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements for the Convention?

Attendees will be registered upon entry to the event. Although you will not be asked for ID on arrival, those fortunate enough to look under 25 may need ID to prove they are at least 18 when buying alcohol. If you buy more than one ticket, you will be asked for the name(s) of those using the additional ticket(s) to ensure that registration goes smoothly.

There is no age limit and children are welcome at STEAM, as well as on the external trips. On at least one day of the event, other licensed premises in Swindon will host live music in the evening. Please note that UNDER 18s MAY BE REFUSED ENTRY TO OFF-SITE VENUES, dependent on licensing rules and management discretion. To help you judge if the Convention is suitable for your under 18, be advised that alcohol will be on sale at STEAM, and the vast majority of attendees will be adults. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a discount for teenagers aged 13 and over. A 50% discount for children aged 12 and under will be available in limited numbers; please contact the organisers before ordering tickets if you would like to choose this option. Please get in touch at the email address below if you have any questions.

Insurance and event alteration

Although the Convention has appropriate public liability insurance whilst being held at STEAM, it is not insured against cancellation, postponement, delay or alteration for any reason, so attendees should purchase their own additional insurance if they wish. For instance, personal insurance may be considered necessary by attendees who make travel and accommodation commitments that cannot be altered or refunded if the Convention schedule changes, or if the event is postponed or cancelled. At venues other than STEAM (e.g . pubs) their own liability arrangements apply. Attendance and ticket purchase is at your own risk.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. You can display your ticket on a mobile device.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Contact us via the XTC Convention 2022 Facebook page or via XTC2020@virginmedia.com.
