About this event
Welcome to Yannick's Coaching Lab!
Every 1st Tuesday of the month we get to be a fly on the wall for a live coaching demo, followed by a debrief and discussion together with the coach and client, and a chance to practice and experiment in triads in breakout rooms afterwards. You'll get to learn from interesting and experienced practitioners, connect with other coaches and generally have some fun and experiment in a safe and confidential environment.
Your host for the evening
Your host and facilitator is Yannick Jacob, professional coach, trainer and supervisor with over 10 years of experience. Yannick is a published coaching author, teaching faculty at The School of Life and former Programme Leader of the MSc Coaching Psychology at the University of East London.
Featured Coaches
This month we're welcoming two (!) special guests to the Coaching Lab: our Coaching Cabinet Facilitators Freya Blom and Sid Hamid. Both Freya and Sid are not just fantastic human beings, but also very experienced coaches. I've known both for some time now and can't wait to see them with a client in action. Both bring distinct styles and quite a different presence to their work, and while slightly shorter than usual, they will no doubt be inspiring sessions to witness!
This special Lab also acts as an introduction to the Coaching Cabinet, which is our new and improved peer-support group for coaches and will take place, for FREE(!), every 3rd Tuesday of the month with Freya, Sid and Yannick facilitating peer coaching groups around various topics in the categories of 1) Practice, 2) Business, and 3) Self.
Bio & Approach - Freya:
Freya is an experienced High Impact Coach, Coach Supervisor, Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner specialising in supporting High Achievers to ditch burnout and say yes to sustainable freedom. Her approach is highly integrative: pragmatic, practical, intuitive and psycho-educative, using goals as a direction rather than a destination, and dealing with what emerges as the coaching relationship and experience unfolds. She often draws on her past experience as a couples coach and her work with startups and business owners, and existential, psychodynamic, TA and systemic lenses. She sees coaching as a means to reflect back and magnify people's inherent brilliance, share life changing tools and perspectives, and enable freer flowing love, creativity and self expression so her clients can expand beyond their conditioning, experience life as fully and meaningfully as possible, solve problems in ways they can be truly proud of and make maximum positive social impact in the world.
Bio & Approach - Sid:
Since 2009, life has taken Sid on a journey of coaching a wonderful diversity of neurocosmopolitan and neurodiverse people to improve their self-awareness and emotional intelligence across life. Having considerable ‘success’ with his mastery and material achievements then, Sid also found the courage to transform his trauma, overcome his mental health challenges and is on a new journey to come into a deeper connection with himself authentically, relating with others and the world with more aliveness, creativity and compassion. As a result, Sid now embodies a “whole self, whole systems” approach in his coaching and draws upon the wisdom into what sustains and limits flow in different streams of systemic consciousness i.e. own inner relationship with different parts of ourselves, the relationships we have with others in groups, teams & then our sense of belonging in family, organizational, societal and global systems. About the Lab:
Join us for an inside-look into the inner workings of coaching, find out how and why coaches make certain decisions and how they choose their interventions. You get to witness how the client is experiencing different coaching approaches and we hope you'll get lots of inspiration for your own coaching practice.
After the fishbowl and discussion you'll get a chance to work in triads (coach, client, observer) with the other attendees so that you can take your insights and ideas for a spin, experiment with some new tools and techniques or simply practice some coaching and get some valuable feedback on your work from fellow professional or curious lay clients. Talking about coaching in small groups and sharing our learning with the rest of the group afterward will help us all grow our understanding, knowledge and coaching skills.
