Yardbird! ft. biggerPicture

biggerPicture, a British/German-based musical collective, emerged from the collaboration of Tobias Bech and Laurie Rich, who met in March 2024. United by a passion for free improvisation, ambient jazz, and diverse global musical traditions, they rapidly developed a unique compositional voice. Their initial duo work, influenced by the Berlin scene, culminated in an album recorded at Hansa Studios with engineer Nanni Johansson and featuring vocalist Irma Neumüller, drawing inspiration from the 'Azimuth' project.

Expanding their sound, they formed a quartet with bassist Seth Sjöström and drummer Dominik Witte, performing in Berlin before Rich's return to the UK. Their subsequent UK tour in winter 2025 yielded a live trio album with Ursula Harrison in Wales, and a new biggerPicture record with the original Berlin lineup, produced by Sonny Johns at Fish Factory Studios in London, leading to a performance at the Vortex Jazz Club.
