Joe Hughes and Daisy Clarke are the co founders of Take One Stage And Screen @TakeoneUK. Take One was started just before lock down and continues to provide up to date screen training and workshops with some of the leading Directors, Agents and Casting Directors in the UK.

Joe Hughes

Joe Hughes is one of the co founders of Take One and has been a working actor in film and television for the last 15 years. Most recently he can be seen as the role of "Seymour Darling" in ITV's GRACE. Some of his other credits include BLACK MIRROR (NETFLIX), A TOWN CALLED MALICE (SKY), BRASSIC (SKY), CASUALTY (BBC), FRESH MEAT (CHANNEL 4)

Daisy Clarke

Daisy is the co founder of Take One and made the transition from working in Musical Theatre to Film and Television in the last 5 years. Most recently Daisy worked on Feature Film SUNNY DANCER, Directed by George Jaques starring JAMES NORTON, BELLA RAMSEY and NEIL PATRICK HARRIS. Her other credits include SKY TV show MY FRIEND MISTY and she was also the Co-Director of STILL OUT THERE.

Step in front of the camera with confidence in this hands-on screen acting class designed for performers who want to sharpen their on-set craft. In this session you will learn a variety of useful techniques to take with you on your next screen acting job. You’ll learn the practical skills from hitting marks naturally, understanding shot sizes to maintaining continuity across takes and delivering truthful performances through script work.

Through guided exercises and scene work, you’ll explore:

  • Camera awareness – Understanding different shots and shot sizes
  • Hitting your marks – moving with precision without losing authenticity
  • Continuity techniques – keeping your performance consistent from take to take
  • Script work – breaking down dialogue for emotional truth and timing
