We are currently witnessing a record number of both Chinese students going abroad and foreign students coming to China. Meanwhile the Confucius network provides Chinese language and culture lessons to around 2 million students worldwide.

In this panel discussion we will be exploring the increasing importance of China in global education, China's effectiveness in using education as a soft power tool and the opportunities and challenges of education partnerships between China and other countries including the UK.

Members interested in applying to the Tsinghua-based Schwarzman Scholars graduate programme are invited to stay on for an admissions information session after the panel discussion has concluded.
