Event description

Description

A BioBlitz will be held on the Yealm, at Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo in South Devon, on Friday 13th July and Saturday 14th July. Join us for 24-hours+ of exciting activities across a wide range of habitats, involving fun, education and scientific data collection. Participants with all levels of expertise and all ages are being encouraged to take part in helping to identify and record the wide range of species living in the area.

The area's beautiful local features include the River Yealm tidal estuary with its seagrass beds, creeks, small beaches, sea cliffs, coastal paths and ancient woodlands. There are numerous views of the estuary and creeks that remain tranquil, natural spaces which capture the unspolit characteristics of the area.

If you want to take part, please sign up now and we'll send you information about specific activities in the Spring. Some will have limited spaces available.

We are also seeking enthusiasts to run timetabled activities and to record species. In addition there will be some space at the base camp if you’d like a stand to present to school groups and the general public. If this is in your field of expertise, please register now and we will be in touch to ensure you are included in the programme of activities.
