On Wednesday 24 th September, we will be holding two Phonics Information Sessions.
These sessions will recap with parents and carers the way phonics is taught in school and
used to teach children how to begin to read. We will then introduce parents and carers to
how this develops in year 1 to support children to become fluent readers. You will be given
some information about the phonics screening check at the end of year 1 and what that
looks like.
We will model the sounds that we teach, explain the progression in phonics and discuss
how you can continue to support your children at home.
We have two sessions arranged for this day, at 9:00am and 4:30pm. Both sessions will
be held in the school hall. Please enter through the school office entrance.
