About this event
This promises to be a valuable event, reflecting the school’s strong commitment to providing your child with the highest quality resources in preparation for their examinations. In addition to equipping your child with essential materials, the evening will offer guidance for how best to support your child throughout this pivotal academic year.
Only parents/carers who attend this evening with their child will be provided with these free resources. If, for any reason, you cannot make this event, you may book an appointment with Mr Archer (larcher@aatrust.co.uk) or Mr Tolley (jtolley@aatrust.co.uk) to discuss the information missed and receive your child's pack.
Due to the high number of students and parents wanting to attend this evening to support their child in achieving the best grades possible, it is a ticketed event. There will be a limited number of tickets available for each presentation time slot (4:15pm, 5pm and 5:45pm) and they will be distributed on a first-come first served basis. Each student can request a maximum of three tickets for themselves and two family members to join them on the evening. Please request your tickets before 3:30pm on Monday 15th of September.
During the evening, we will give you an overview of the upcoming year. This will give you an outline of your child’s learning and exam route. We will highlight important dates and deadlines for coursework and exams and give a brief outline of the possible routes for our pupils after their time at Aldersley. After this short presentation, you will have the opportunity to look at the different stalls at our fair. The fair will include stalls that cover the following areas:
1. Meet Core Heads of Department
2. Meet your child’s Form Tutor
3. Stress, anxiety and sleep
4. Nutrition and exercise
5. Revision timetables and time management
6. Revision techniques and Question Level Analysis
7. Sixth forms, colleges, universities and apprenticeships
8. Pastoral support from Head of Year 11 and external agencies
9. Parental support and attendance
10. How to achieve in coursework-based subjects
11. Exam Information
12. SENCO and Access Arrangements
13. What success looks like
If you have booked a 5pm or 5:45pm presentation, you are welcome to look around the fair before or after the presentation. I look forward to seeing you at this prestigious event.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Luke Archer
(Associate Assistant Headteacher of Key Stage 4)
