This free event is aimed at parents of Year 11 students to inform them about the process involved with applying to university.
During the evening we will be giving an overview of the benefits of Higher Education in general, how to choose a course, the application process as well as Student Finance and what help is available.
The outline of the programme is:
17.30- 18.00: Optional campus tour
18.00 - 18.15: Registration and Refreshments
18.15- 18.45 : Welcome and overview of applying to university.
This will include:
- Choosing a course
- How to choose a university
- Timeline: "What happens when?" From the beginning of college to going to university
18.45-19.00: Meet our current students. An opportunity to hear from students studying subjects such as medicine, law, humanities/social science, engineering and maths.
19.00- 19.20 Buffet and an opportunity to chat to academics, students and staff
19.20 - 19.45 Student Finance- what support is available, funding, budgeting etc
19.45: Questions and Finish
Although this event is intended for parents/ guardians, students are more than welcome to attend. However due to limited places being available, the event booking is limited to 3 places per booking and will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

There is a bus stop situated at the University. We also have parking available across the campus.
